DMI began in 1979 with just two employees and has grown to 200,000 square feet of mill and finish shop. Built on a reputation of quality and service, DMI is available to meet most every woodworking need.

Our world class craftsmen fabricate custom doors, mouldings, casework, windows, flooring, paneling, and just about anything else that can be made from wood. We are well-known for our work in the restoration of historical structures.

DMI was also one of the first mills in the country to manufacture fire-rated stile and rail wood doors. Our clients include well-known celebrities and Fortune 500 Companies.

Long-leaf heart pine rescued from nineteenth century and early twentieth century demolished structures is being used to create historical reproductions and contemporary designs of singular beauty and quality. This splendid and extraordinarily durable wood was harvested extensively for use as large construction members and ship building timbers. When reclaimed, this resource offers a rare and precious raw material without peer. Well seasoned, beautifully grained and rich in patina, our stock of long-leaf pine is daily transformed into heirloom quality creations for a diverse and discriminating clientele. As this resource dwindles, its value will continue to increase.

We take pride in combining the advantages of the newest technologies with timeless craftsmanship. Hand carvings or high-capacity CNC controlled routing, we apply the appropriate method to each activity. We also aggressively promote the use of reclaimed wood species for historical reproductions, architectural millwork or contemporary pieces.

ROUGH MILL
Our raw material stocks are developed almost exclusively by our own rough mill. DMI keeps large inventories of hard and soft woods and maintains access to additional stockpiles. In addition, we inventory common and some exotic veneers for special work.

MILLWORK
We manufacture 100% of the trim and mouldings used for in-shop fabrication. Custom profiles are produced with knives ground in our own knife shop. We manufacture standard profiles, as well as custom architectural designs.

DOOR PLANT
Custom stile and rail wood doors have been a staple for DMI since our inception. From standard panel doors to uniquely personalized leaves, we have produced thousands of doors for nearly as many clients. And before any door leaves our plant it must pass rigid AWI Quality Standards and our own criteria. Fire-rated doors are carefully crafted and certified to meet exacting NFPA rules.

WINDOWS AND SHUTTERS
From historical restorations to multi-million dollar residences, DMI manufactures windows and shutters of all descriptions to meet each specific need.

CUSTOM CABINETRY
DMI produces casework for residential, commercial and institutional construction. From exotic hardwoods to unique laminates, traditional to European designs, kitchens to executive suites, we can meet your needs.

ARCHITECTURAL MILLWORK
We also offer the capability to produce unique and challenging millwork designs. Wood columns, restaurant interiors and furniture, hotel fixtures and others too numerous to mention, we relish the challenge of new and unusual designs.

FINISH SHOP
In addition to fabrication DMI can finish your project to your specifications, including AWI standards. We routinely match existing colors and finishes.

ENGINEERING
DMI maintains a professional engineering staff to provide CAD generated shop drawings for each project. CNC programming for our computer controlled equipment is also handled by this department.

INSTALLATION
DMI can also install your project. We offer negotiated, turnkey services for small or large projects.

ADMINISTRATION
DMI maintains a knowledgeable staff with the experience to help you find the correct solution for your design and fabrication challenges.
